Well, took me a while to get the shop de-winterized and quasi-running, and grabbed a piece of maple I bought off the E-place last year and gace it a ywirl. Boy, it feels good to be back at the lathe, really missed it. have to thank all you people who posted your work all winter, kept me in the loop and out of the rubber room.
this piece was about 1 minute away from being finish sanded when it went orbital and tried to bend the ways off the lathe...of course, the lathe won..so now it has a huge dent on the underside, so I just finished sanding it and beal buffed it with no finish applied. Still like it, even without oil or whatever. About 9 inches across, 1 3/4 high, walls about 1/8 .
