Pumpkin seed shaped vase, Ash with a Wenge spigot, 6" in dameter and about 2" thick. It has a hole drilled down in about 5" for the flowers. This is the first time I've made one of these and if was fun.

Very nice, Curt! That form really shows off the grain. Any chance of a tutorial or explanation of your chucking methods for us newbies?

For all you who want to know how to make the basic design, it is explained in the summer 2005 issue of Woodturning Design, pp. 76 to 78. I also gives a variation. Curt added his own neat variation.

Thank you Joyce. I dug out my 2005 summer Woodturning magazine and that is a much better way to do what I was trying to to.
