Zebrawood and Blackwood. 5-1/4"H x 4-1/2"W. Finished with Seal-A-Cell and buffed with all three compounds.

That looks real nice. I like seeing zebrawood but am skittish about using it because of splintering. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful HF Neal! Love the vertical grain orientation! Great form on the finial. Very nice work!

Boy they don't get much nicer than that. That's beautiful wood, a great form, and the finial really tops it of nice.

Roy, wanna see splintering? Here's how this thing started out. I was about a 1/4 of the way into hollowing and was maybe (?) being a bit too agressive. :eek:

Needless to say, I had to do some "redesigning" on the form.

BTW, I liked the original form better.

Neal....thanks for posting that 2nd photo of you pre-recovery! If I'd had that happen I'd of probably chucked it! Next time I'll give recovery a chance! Extremely well done Sir!

This is wierd. I see where Glenn just posted a reply so obviously he can see Neal's piece, but it is not showing up for me. The only pic I'm seeing of Neal's piece is the "oops" picture he posted in response to Roy.:confused: :confused: :confused:

Outstanding piece Neal. Perfect grain orientation and fantastic finial. The color really came out on it once the finish was on.
