I'm going to jail.........with pics

Well I'm not really going to jail, but this plaque/logo is. It measures 42 x 42 and weighs
67 pounds. The logo came from one of the stickers that is on the side of the deputies'
car doors. I blew it up to 1 1/2 it's size to come up with the size that I wanted. I had
the logo lasered on the a 1 3/8" thick 12 diameter piece of walnut. I then cut a piece
of MDF for a template for the "star" points and rough cut walnut pieces to cut with a
spiral router bit. The logo rest on a hand carved (sculpted) 35 x 35 inch glued up cherry
board and it is screwed to a piece of baltic plywood with purpleheart frame. The lettering
is done on redwood boards because it lasers so nicely. The star points have maple inlayed
that I added as my own design. The star point tips are made from solid 2" diameter brass
rod that were turned and polished on a lathe. I then sprayed the brass with PRE-CAT
lacquer to keep them from tarnishing. I also sprayed the whole project with the same
lacquer. Hope you like it.
