Griz G0490 missing springs?

Now that my tables are properly aligned it's on to the blades.
According to the manual the jointer includes both springs and jack screws for adjusting the blades (but only 1 should be used).
However, when I look at my jointer there are no springs, only jack screws.
Am I missing the springs? :confused:
Or is the manual out of date?
Any other G0490 owners please let me know what you've found.

If you have jack-screws (preferable in my mind) the springs really aren't necessary.
