Does anyone know what happend to these guys?

I purchased one of their 8' Pro Series clamps last year from Peachtree Woodworking along with the saw and router plates. Overall, I've been pleased with the purchase and was thinking about picking up the 4 footer to handle some of the crosscuts. However, it doesn't look like they're in business any longer. Can someone confirm their status?

Kevin,

I was in our local Woodcraft store today and they still carry the Tru-Grip edge guides so they must still be around. Possibly they have changed the outlet venue and won't be selling direct anymore...I don't know.

Woodworker's Supply appears to have them, but the truegrip.com domain seems to be, umm...buggered...

I asked Peachtree about them at the Milwaukee WW show. I was looking at getting the router plate and the 8-footer to compliment the 4-footer that I bought in 2006 from them. Wel the guy (not very enthused to be helping me) said that they were not caryying the profile of extrusion any more becuse they were carrying the All in One (I think) and that they didn't want to carry 2 different profiles. He grunted and told me to check the internet. I really like this profile better than the all in one - it is really stiff. I guess I am chose poorly again in the long run! Maybe I should sell you my 4-footer and get a ts55?!

A salesman at local woodworking shop told me last November that the parent company was going through bankruptcy or something like that when I bought a 2' True Grip. He told me that as far as he knew, when they sold out the ones they had, that was it.. unless the parent company found a way to sell the product rights off to another company.

I have no proof other than what the guy told me, but he's pretty reliable.

Keith - I checked the Woodcraft website earlier and wasn't able to find anything there. I'm guessing that some of their stores are just working off their inventory.

Jim - Thanks! Woodworker's Supply does carry the Tru-Grip "Clamp-N-Guide" but I couldn't find anything on the Pro Series.

Rob - I finally received this email reply from Peachtree's Customer Service: "At this time we can no longer get the product. The manufacture is no longer making them in the USA. We do have some plates left that you can order toll free at ...."

Thanks to everyone for their input. I was a little fearful that they may have gone out of business.

Take a look at http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=5819
I think these are even better than the Tru-Grip variety.
They have a top T-slot and tape measure scales.
The clamping mechanism is "very" similar ie: the same?
They are made by Emerson tools.
And, even better, they are available!

On sale from Rockler right now. I just snagged a 2 footer... haven't really used it yet, but it looks good and seems to clamp tightly.
