Hi all, I just got this Rockwell drill press, yesterday I paid 75 dlls for it and it runs very smooth. It is a floor model and it has 6 inches of quill travel. Now can somebody help me find out how old is it and where can I find a manual for it. Thanks.

There are many people on the Creek who know lots about old machines, but there is a special place on the web called "Old Wood Working Machines." Link (http://www.owwm.com/) They had lots of information about my 1937 Walker Turner drill press.
Congratulations on the find.

I think that model dates to the mid 1960's
As John mentions, somebody on OWWM might be able to hook you up with a manual if you don't find someone here.

Hey,
That's a sweet drill press. I have one very similar only it's a bench model. If you call delta, they will send you a photo copy of the manual but it isn't very helpful besides the exploded drawings. Exploded drawings can be found here: http://www.acetoolrepair.com/DeltaHtml/Tables/DeltaIndex.htm.
Ace tool repair also sells replacement parts, but many replacement parts can also be ordered from Delta.
Enjoy,
Darren

Nice acquisition! I don't know about the age question...good advise already handed out...but that quill travel is sweet!
