View Full Version : Stile width for 2 cabinet doors

One more kitchen question for the week I guess :D

I'm designing cabinets for a new kitchen. I'll be using inset doors and drawers. I have some 3' wide spaces under the sinks, and SWMBO wants 2 simple doors for each. My question is do I make the stiles that meet the same width as the hinge side, or 1/2 the width so they balance @ the meeting point. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks.

Ranbir -

I would make the stiles the same width. But have a space between them of ~1 to 1½". In that space glue a board to the left hand door. Would be a false piece of frame that would still allow full access under the sink.

Good luck,
Ted

Ranbir,

I think Ted has the best answer, especially if the other cabinets will have a stile down the middle where the doors meet.

Good luck,
Bob
