Shop Fox 12" Parallelogram jointer vs...

So I had my mind made up about the Grizzly 10"
"standard" (dovetailed way) G0455 jointer and then
I notice they've got the (relatively) new G0609
12" Parallelogram jointer for about $80 less. So,
knowing Griz & SFox are the same machine I go to
my local tool seller (1/4 mile from my house...I'm such
a lucky boy:p ) who has Delta, Steel City and now
Shop Fox and I ask him what the SF 12" costs.
He tells me $1700, forklifted right into my shop where
I want it. That makes it $125 less than the Griz (with shipping)...
Good deal or not? Anyone have the SF or Griz 12"
parrallelogram table??? I know some have the 8" SF and
seem to like it. Just curious for input before I (finally)
pull the trigger...

Good deal, IMHO...especially the fork lift part!! That should be a great machine to add to your shop. (And personally, I like the color better...but that's just a personal aesthetic preference)

I've been going over this to a painful degree and believe I will end up with a p-bed machine. I'd say go for it!

Oh yeah, I had totally overlooked the color-scheme component!!!
That green just wouldn't do! Plus the delivery part is pretty sweet.
And I know what you mean about the painful degree part, Glenn.
So I emailed one of the two mentioned companies about why I
should get one machine over the other and here was their oh so
convincing reply....;)
" The G0455 10” Jointer with 4 Blade Cutterhead is faster and has dovetailed ways. In addition, the G0455 has a cast iron base."
Good points...I think. I'm not sure though. I guess I'm still leaning
toward the SF.

I have a DJ30 and can tell you that the base is super solid and it is not CI. I have seen the 1744 in person and it is a beautiful jointer and will be a dream to use. That price is great!
