Does anyone know the pitch and thread type for the modular tool rest system that lee valley sells. They are nice enough to tell you it is m12. I do not have it so I cannot measure it. I believe it is the Sorby system they sell but am not positive.

Mike, that is indeed the Sorby system. I bought it from LV several months ago. It is RH threading.

Thanks for the response Mark and confirming it is the Sorby but their should be a pitch (1,1.25,1.5,1.75) for the threads. I need it to order a tap so that I can make my own different sized rests. Their is also a thread type but I think on metrics it is determined by the pitch not sure though no experience with metric taps.

Any help would be appreciated.

HI

Try this site there is a section on metric threads near the bottom of the page, as well as just about anything else you want to know.
