1-1/2 yrs ago I moved to FL from Chicago for a job. I know I can deduct all my unreimbursed moving expenses (did that in 2005). My house didn't sell for 6-mos and I closed in 2006.

Question is, are any of the closing costs deductible as a moving related expense, things like agent commissions due to selling for a job related move. Stuff that is normally not deductible like taxes, points, etc. What about such buying closing costs on the other end?

Don't want to lose a major deduction!

Seems like a google search says that I can't.

When in doubt about things like this, speak with a CPA who does taxes.

I'm not a CPA, but my recollection is that the non-deductible expenses just reduce the price you got for the house you sold and increaase the cost of the house you bought depending on what expenses are attributable to which house.
