Hinges

Which type do you recommend for the lid of a jewelry box:

1) Slot/Kerf hinges (must buy kerf-cutter blade)
2) Invisible barrel hinges (use drill press only)
3) Mortised-in hinges (use chisels for mortise)

Some factors to consider are cost, ease of installation, visual appeal..

FWIW, I've done two boxes, and used barrel hinges for both. They work well, and I like the invisibility.
