Spun this one last night... had a reallllly tight fit then, nice loud pop, but its a little bit looser but still has a nice fit. designed specifically to go with the ring thats with it. I think that a slightly smaller bulge at the top of the finial may have looked better but i'm not sure... Critique pls. 5 in high, 1 1/2 in max dia, 1 in foot, finial is 3 1/2 in high alone.

ring is blackwalnut and I attempted a CA glue finish on it... if I recall properly, though it might be poly.

I guess I'll be the first to respond... I think it looks real nice! Nice spindle work and nice shape plus the designs cool! You did a great job turning it! Really like that ring, btw... what is the wood and finish of it??

Very nice piece Ben, great idea. I like the idea of double duty-display a rings or rings outside, and store others inside. The ring is beautiful!

Until I saw that it was also a box, I was really concerned with the ring around the globe, as it were! Nice!

My thoughts exactly! I was thinking, now why didn't Ben make that "groove" a little deeper and use a wire burner...then I saw the last pic and said "Oh! that's why!":)

Very nice job Ben! I like the finial as it is!

Good idea Ben! I like it a lot. Wish I thought of it when I gave the LOML her engagement ring last year.
