Does anyone have a link to a good wood ID chart?
I know they are out there i just cant seem to hit on one.
Yesterday I was given some wood from a tree cutting service here local and the guy wasnt to sure but thought it was something called ukasia or akasia tree...so would like to find a wood chart just to satisfy my own curiousity.

Now is the time i really wish i had a digiatal camera to post a pic...its actually really nice looking wood ...white sap wood with dark brown grain running threw it ....anyway if someone has a site i sure wood be thankful

Sounds like acacia. There so many varieties of it though.

Try this http://www.fw.vt.edu/dendro/dendrology/idit.htm

Maybe acacia tree?? Some call it mamossa tree but it is actually a silver leaf acacia. Did you see the tree standing or just get the wood from him.

But here is a link for ya.
