hey all,
is there anyone who owns a Makita LS1214? i need a bit of info. can you tell me how wide a board you can cut with a zero bevel, zero miter setting WITHOUT sliding? just a straight non-sliding crosscut. essentially, its a measure of how deep the blade will plunge below the table top.

i just bought a bosch 5412 and it has a surprisingly short crosscut (w/o sliding) of only 4". that sucks since i'll have to slide whenever i crosscut anything wider than 4" which is annoying. the dewalt 718 has a hefty 8" but the saw has medocre reviews so i hesitate to get it over the bosch. i debated between the bosch and the makita and if it has a significantly wider crosscut i might make a switch.

thanks for your help.
