Ever go just a little bit off line when cutting with a jig saw?? You know, the saw wandered a bit, and the cut is not quite right.

You go back and try to take the area down a hair, and you go too far, or it is now really wavy.

Try this...run the saw backwards over the offending area. Yup, just back it up a couple times. It takes off very little, and comes out smoother than going forward. This works cleanest if the saw is set on non-orbital action. Talking about solid wood here, never tried it on plywood.

Hope this helps. Works for me.

I will try it the next time I do that, which will likely be the next time I use my saw.

Thanks.

I do the same thing on the bandsaw sometimes; not with the blade captured, one side open.
