I know, I know,

We have seen quite enough of the Bar Per......

Besides TeeVees taint woodworking.....

To which I reply, anyway.....

The story,

We designed and built this with 37 inch flat's and

a particular bracket in mind. Matter of fact it was wired

and blocked out exactly where said bracket would have worked.

Leave it to the committee. Story of the job.

We bought these instead, they said with out even a look of concern.

Good luck I told them.

Well, you are going to install them for us aren't you?

Nope, I said. Explaining you got 30 or so guys here who seem

to know it all, I am sure you can get one of them to practice what they

preach.

By now you guy's know me and I can't stand groveling and crying old

men with check books. So I hung em. Not the men, the teevee's.

This picture does not do them justice.

The other half of the room stretches out another 40 feet. (still under

renovation), and there isn't a place in it where you can't see these

perfectly. It is actually stunning.

I submit for your approval...the picture.

Bee-u-tee-ful. Ah, the committee. Sometimes a group sometimes only one person. I applaud you for raising their threshold of pain by charging extra for their deviation from "the plan".

Per,
Not sure I can get too much of that bar!!! I used to spend ALOT of time in a place on the far opposite end of the spectrum, ya know sticky floors after they've been "cleaned"... the kind of place if you ever with inside in daylight hours you'd wonder why you ever went back. I will admit I worked through college in that infamous not so nice looking place though, or did I work there so I wouldn't spend any $$$ at "the bar" on my nights out???

What would a bar without teevee's be?
Although come to think of it, the only flat screens where I worked were on the Golden Tee machine & that's not really flat.

I never get tired of looking at that beautiful bar you put together Per. It looks like it belongs in some upscale hotel or something, not in an Elk's lodge. It now looks like no Elk's Lodge or VFW I've ever been in!

Old adage, If you bought the wrong part, you now have a spare...

Looks great and I hope they know there's more than one "ya owe me for this" there.

Never get tired of seeing it Per, maybe very depressed though...:D

Al... who someday will build something nice too....

Thanks Everybody,

A lil splainin.

I use a specific bracket and gave them the part number,

where to purchase, etc. The wall was mapped out on graph paper

with precise dimensions for placement. So the outlet box, speaker and cable,

surround sound hookup with the Mr. microphone thingy would all

work, be neat and tidy and the whole shebang would go up with 3/8ths

lags into solid wood.

Easy right?

Until the customer went to the store and the salesman said I will

give you a deal on these two. Best ones ever made!

So... in order for it to work even half witted the brackets had to be drilled

with 2 3/8ths holes, Computer grommets inserted, and hung with,

are ya ready? 1/2 inch toggle bolts. Have you ever seen a 1/2 inch toggle?

Takes a inch and a 1/4 hole just to get it in the wall and a 4 1/2 full

threaded 1/2 inch bolt!

Yes I charged them dearly.

Plus aggravation tax.

That's the whole story.

Per, I, for one, can't get enough pictures of your work. You are definately one of the "masters" on this site that I look to for advice and inspiration. Thanks for your willingness to share your input and work with us.:D As usual, you have done a fantastic job.

Oh, remember "The customer is always right.";) While they may be right charging them extra to do the job "their way" is always an option.

I hope the Elks aren't charging admission for a look-see. I'm going to be passing through the Oranges next week, and I might have to slide by Livingston and take a peek . . . I have no illusions about comparing my abilities as a relatively novice amateur woodworker to an experienced professional with talent, but it's always interesting to see how something is done and then to see the final result. It's encouraging to think that if I keep this up, one day I'll be able to make something, albeit on a smaller scale, that's half as nice in twice the time :D

You just managed to the spec. Anything that deviates from it requires more time and money - especially when part numbers are specified and agreed to. Hope his tears didn't make the signature on the check illegible.

I run into the same thing in my job and manage it exactly the same way.

Luckily, SMWBO is far and away the largest consumer of my wwing projects, so I don't have that problem at home.

Per - I also can't get enough of the pics. That bar is sick - and by that I intend the best possible definition of the word. A stunning amout of work there and every bit seems top-shelf.
