Here's a bowl 9-1/2 by 2-3/4 and my first hollow form attempt at 4-3/4 by 4. These were turned from my practice wood.
Sorry for the photo quality. Still learning the camera / lighting combo.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice work.
I'm kicking myself for all the sweetgum I've burned as scrap before I discovered turning! Might have to try and convince the neighbor lady that she needs to remove those "nuisance"trees from her back yard! :D

Mike, I like the form and especially the heartwood on the bowl. Thanks for posting these beauties.

Pretty! I too like the heartwood/sapwood contrast on the bowl. Definitely adds to the interest. Nice finish too.

Mike....I'd move those from the "practice" column...to the "finished" column! Nicely done!

Very nice! I really like the dark areas, really contrast well to the lighter area. Good job on both the bowl and the HF.

Those are beautiful pieces of work! Those dark spots sure add a lot to the piece... awesome work!

Thanks everyone! I have ten more logs of the stuff sitting outside the shop spaulting or rotting whichever it decides to do. I have turned several bowls from it that I'll post once finished.
Thanks agian.
