pen set boxes

I want to build matching boxes for a few pen/pencil sets I will be making.
What dimensions should the boxes be? Any other recommendations from all you experienced woodworkers out there?

You might try contacting Bill Grumbine or Ken S. directly. I know Bill used to make baxes for his pens.
