Lap board siding

I'm rebuilding the pond pump house that hurricane Rita destroyed. To go with the style of the house, it needs to have a rustic look. I'm looking at using some cedar fence pickets and cuting them to look like lap siding. I could take a venture down to the local HD and measure the cut angles for siding, but I'm sure they would not match. Any clues as to how to make this wood lap.

I have a good band saw, jointer, shaper, table saw etc, etc, but rather than experiment until I got it right, I was hoping some one could give me some clues as to how to cut the boards.

Not sure about cutting but typical clapboard is 1/2 at the bottom and about 1/4" at the top and 5 1/2" wide. Seems like it would have to be a bandsaw job to me. Larger claps are 3/4 at the bottom and 7 1/2 or 9 1/2 wide. I have seen older clapboards that were 3" courses so the boards were probably 4" wide, almost small enough for the TS.
