I'm learning the nuances of dealing with wet wood and lost two to cracks before this one. I have one drying slowly and I'm hoping that will work but this one I decided to try turning to final and seeing how it went. The shape was somewhat dictated by a crack I had to get rid of but the general concept was a utility type bowl. The wood is walnut and the dimensions are 5 3/4" x 2". I flooded it with thinned BLO and that seems to be working well.

Nice bowl-- I also like the form. Are you using DNA to help with the drying-? I am working on my "Grabbox" and may post next week.:D

Brett bowl is a beauty. Nice form and finish. I use DNA and have did three pieces from John's box and lost none yet. Nice job on the bowl.

Brett, really nice figuiring in that walnut, nice job! I've had the same trouble with some cherry I've been working with. I even tried DNA on one and it also developed some cracks. Neither DNA method nor time method worked for the lasttwo pieces I've tried. I guess sometimes the wood just does what it wants to. I'll call it Wood Karma! Good luck in your other walnut pieces!
