but... I just finished two of these gates for my client. There 2x6 cedar with lap joints and dadoes.Over 50 of them.I wanted all the dadoes an lap joints to be exact depth so I used a router for all of them.I thought of doing the lap joints on the TS but.. i have a enough sawdust for a ho-down now..:)
The checker board design is cool. The chunkiness is also.Thats my rendition of a bird on the top.Client will paint welcome underneath it.

Wow! That was a lot of work!. I work where they put in fence but the gates are all just rectangular there. On the plus side, cedar is good mulch eh?

Any of you have any tricks for getting out pencil lines off your work? Besides sanding. Commercial lumber is a little bumpy so sanding it out is tuff with all the valleys.

Definitely a lot of work for him. It came out really nice.

Don't use Ceder mulch, though. It's really bad for the ground.

Denatured alcohol is ethanol (the stuff in beer, wine, etc) mixed with a small amount of methanol (very bad...makes you go blind). They mix it up like that to avoid taxation as an alcoholic beverage and avoid regulation.

Someday I too will have a garage............someday.

Someone once told me about using these. I've tried others but these work great. I've got two or three of them lying around.

Might sound silly but try a damp rag.
