Have not been turning much this week. The wife has me doing flatwork:eek:. This is a 9x3 mesquite bowl that I finished last week. The finish is Watco buffed. Have I mentioned how much I love my new buffing setup.

Mike;
That's a great looking bowl and I like the buffed finish. When you finish with just the Watco how many applications of the oil do you apply before buffing? Do you apply the oil over multiple days or all at once. I have been using Watco but not getting your kind of results.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike - I pretty much follow the directions on the back of the can, heavy coat sit 30 minutes reapply let sit about 15 minutes and wipe off. However after sanding to 340 I will wet sand with Watco and 400 grit paper to fill the pores. Then wipe another thin coat of Watco on after wet sanding to "set" the sawdust and let it sit overnight before I turn off the tenon and finish it. Not sure if it helps but it is what I have been doing lately.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

This and #2 are very nice Mike. Great work as usual. I wish I I could keep up on the wood pile.
