Well, well.....another one has fallen in love with the captured system. :p :p :D

Congrats Ken...!!!! It's really nice to be able to relax when turning HF's. Just set you up a laser and then you can really relax while turning those HF's. ;)

Dennis...it was amazing. I had a little dimple in the bottom. I decided I'd try turning it out by hand using a round nose scraper.......right.....Back to the Jamieson....turn that little teardrop shaped scraper.....done. It got rid of the wobble marks I made with the round nose too!:o

Okay folks....while I was playing with my Jamieson...I was playing with you too...at the same time.....
..

At Christmas I received a very generous gift from my MIL with a note...."Buy something you want...not something you need"....well I didn't need a Jamieson but I sure did want one. I'll talk with the LOML when she gets home from work but I'm pretty sure this one will end up in my MIL's private collection in Illinois. Luckily for me she's not a real critic but certainly a happy recipient!

Well.....here it is...my first HF......Dunno wood given to me by Forrest Price last summer....It started out as a little nondescript cylinder already dry.......diameter 5 1/2" by 2 3/4" tall..wall thickness about 3/16"...finished with BLO, Zinsser's Dewaxed shellac and Beal buffed....

As always your comments and critiques are always welcomed. I won't get any better if you don't point out my errors.

Congrats Ken..!!!!!!!!! That's a keeper. :D

Now...keep that one and hold it until you've turned several more HF's and then compare your current HF to the ones that you turn a few months/years from now. You'll be surprised at the progess and increase of your HF turning quality and style.

Well, well.....another one has fallen in love with the captured system.

His thread title combined with your comment are downright scary!! :D :D

Seriously, I'd not give up my captured system for anything outside of another one.;)
