I made this for a friend that gave me a pear tree trunk during the ice storms. He picked the blank. I wonder if its mostly sapwood because it seems pretty light in color compared to the other two I've got. I think it turned out ok.

are you sure that it's rose wood looks more like tulip wood to me

No idea what kind of wood it is Gary - but sure is a nice looking pen!

I guess it could be, but it was in a package of 5 marked rosewood. Technically, Tulipwood is in the rosewood family (I believe) so I guess they couldn't have been "correct" in the packaging.

Nice pen... like it alot! Is it gold? (couldn't tell too well from the pic). I would agree it doesn't look to much like the rosewood I've seen, but it sure is purdy. Nice work!

Yep, its gold. It was a WC cigar kit I got at their last sale.
