A friend wanted me to make these for a rather involved project he is working on. Any ideas on what you think they are?

For size reference, the two large pieces are about 5 feet long and 2 inches thick. It doesn't show too well on the picture but each long piece has a 'notch' cut on the outboard edge. There are also quite a few holes drilled at precise locations. Answer will be forthcoming.

BTW, they are white oak coated with West System Epoxy.

Parts for Ice Boat runners? The epoxy has me thinking that...

West System and white oak lead me to think of boats, or perhaps an iceboat like Rob suggested, but boat parts are usually curved or tapered. The countersunk hole drilled where we can see it and the blocks look like they might serve as bushings for something which swivels. Perhaps support for a swing or something like that.
