I had an inquiry about making some custom templates for a candy maker and was wondering what would make a good food grade material that I could use. In other industries, I've used UHMW a great deal. We used lexan for guards, etc., but nothing that ever had contact with the product.

Any idea what would work well and be safe for products that will have food/candy contacting them at some point?

Dupont Corian, stainless steel and glass are all food safe and dishwasher safe.
Corian is easy to shape using basic woodworking tools.

You can put Saran Wrap or wax paper over almost any material and it becomes food safe.

Actually you can use acrylic. The candy maker will sanitize the material.

I am about to do a similar job and the customer will work with several kinds of plastic including delrin.
