I have the basic General single speed ambient air filter.
1. How do I know if the internal pocket pleated filter is kaput or not?
2. The outside prefilter -I bought one of those wiremesh reusuable filters.
Any truth that they don't clean as well as the cheaper replaceable ones and therefore the inner filter doesn't last as long?
