I have been reading and looking at info regarding miter guages. The Dubby always seems to show up, as well as several others. I was watching Norm the other day doing the table saw episode and he was using this:

I was not aware of this one and was suprised to see it is made about twenty minutes away from where I live! I sent them an e-mail and will report back.

Anyone (besides Norm) using this? It seems to do what I want one to do.

I've had the EB-1 and now use the EB-3. It's an excellent miter gauge, and dead accurate. However, it does not replace a good cutoff box! I find I use a sliding cutoff jig at leat 75% of the time.

Ron

I discovered this thread http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?p=317968&page=4&highlight=jigs after I started the thread above; so I have seen some responses on choices. Seems like another "what suits you the best" choice.

I like my woodhaven. Had it on two table saws.

I had my Osborne EB-3 for about a year and am very happy with both its accuracy and user friendliness. I can comment on the others out ther though since I haven't used them.

Anything is probably much better than the stock miter jig that came with my Unisaw.

I've been using the Osborne EB 3 for a couple of years now and love it. Simple and dead accurate. How much more could you want?

Rick, I don't know if you have looked at the Incra V-27 or not....but it is a good low priced, very accurate miter gauge. It has adjustable discs (4) of them that let you adjust the bar to fit your miter slot perfectly. I bought one several months ago for $57.00 or $58.00 at klingspor woodworking,
I have also seem at some other places as well for that price. This is a
very well made piece of equipment that was a big upgrade to the old Delta standard miter guage that I had been using, and worth every cent of the price! My .02 worth...Jim Heffner

Hi Rick - You might want to confirm that the EB-3 is really made near you. I thought they had been bought and the manufacturing sent to China, but am not certain.

In any event, I've got an Incra V27 with a Hartville fence on it, and an EB-3.

Now that my EB-3 has been fixed (thanks more to my efforts than Osborne's), I think it's a nice gauge. It's simple enough to use when setup, but it's a more complex mechanism than some, and was problematic early on, being off by about 1.5 degrees when extended. Osborne's CS wasn't overly helpful at the time and didn't fulfill all of the promises they made. At least it's functioning now, and they did eventually provide the parts needed once I learned what they were and requested the specific part numbers, but I needed to do some research to make it happen.

The V27 is a great buy in a basic gauge IMO... the 1000SE should offer a few features that the V27 does not.

That said, fellow Creeker Tom Pritchard, has a Woodhaven Deluxe that replaced his problematic EB-3, and he loves it. It's extremely well built, simple, and made with high precision. I'm pretty impressed with it too. Enough so that I just recently ordered the Jet version of the WH through Rockler, though I understand those are sold out.

Got a prompt response back from David Osborne. Scott, you are correct that they are no longer made in S.Williamsport. The EB-1 and EB-2's were but David said the EB-3 required equipment they did not have and so is made by General International now. It is currently on sale for $109.
I did read your reviews and appreciate your time and efforts.
