Well, LOML asked me to make some simple picture frames and since I didn't want to spend big $$$ on one of those fancy picture frame joining machines, I came up with this:

60238

60239

60240

And a few of the joint. Of course the excess will be sanded down.

60241

60242

Lou,

Nice Jig! I'm a believer that this is a must when it comes to building quality picture frames.

Who's toggle clamp are you using? It appears to have a much larger rubber tip than those I'm use to seeing.

Kevin.. I take those toggle clamps and replace the tips with something other then the soft tips they normally have.

A nylon round with a hole to fit an allen screw is great. Use one on my coping sleds and it holds very well.

Joe

I like the splines, I may have to do some of those on my next frames.

Nice job!

I have some barnwood frames in my house that my Dad made. He did something similar with the frames. I always wondered how he did it without a table saw.

Rich, I used my Hitachi CMS with an 80 tooth Freud blade to cut the 45's.

Kevin,

The toggle clamp came from a coping jig i got from Rockler:

I prefer to use the jig without the clamp, so I found another use for it.
