I bought an adapter that goes from 2 1/2" to 4". I got it at Rockler and it has worked well for me.

I took the plastic panel and the 2" port off altogether. I got a "big gulp" dust collection "funnel" which has a 4" outlet and using some 1/8 hardboard slung it beneath the table. I'm not explaining this well, but between the big gulp and the hardboard, there is a full bottom panel under the blade, with a 4" outlet at the bottom. It sits on the horizontal ledge formed by the metal panels. No dust falls on the floor at all and the 4" outlet ensures that very little even stays on the hardboard.

This may work for you:

I have the same saw and plan on using the above link to change it over to a 4" port, but this is low on my priority list.

Check this thread. It works as well as anything without an overhead guard.

Grant,
You got any pictures or info on your Idea?

Marc, I took the plastic shroud for my 3612, and cut out the 2 1/2" fitting and cut in a 6" hole. It works very well. I thought I had taken several pictures of it, but can only find one in this thread, post #68: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=14427&page=3
I also made some pieces out of ABS to close the back end off, somewhat, and still allow the tilt to function. You can see pictures here in post #12: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=45552
Hope this helps spark some ideas. I don't know how the 3650 is set up, but I bet it is similar. Jim.

Marc and Ken

I hope you'll believe that I'm a better woodworker than photographer. Here's two pics of what I was talking about. Here is a link to the big gulp. I'm sure there are many like it.
