We will be going back to the late 1800's to early 1900's and experiencing history come alive! Stroll through our recreated sawmill town and visit with the town mayor, judge, sheriff, general store clerk, the trading post men, and so much more. Enjoy beautiful music from this period and don't miss our pie eating contest. Bring your entire family out and enjoy day filled with fun and excitement! We encourage attendees to dress the part and enjoy the festivities as one of our own.

Our arts and craft vendors are getting ready to show off their latest creations. Each vendor is bringing unique and highly valued arts and crafts from around the area. Our food vendors are bring tasty vittles that you will not want to miss. And don't miss the Ol' Bandits that will be roaming around trying to stay out of jail!

Parking is made easy at local parking areas, be picked up by our mule pulled wagons and experience an authentic shuttle to our event.

Our event will be held on Community Road in New Caney, Texas. New Caney, Texas January 24, 2008, Family fun is all around at the 2008 Texas Sawmill Festival, on Friday, June 13 from 6pm-10pm and Saturday, June 14th from 10am - 6pm at AV “Bull” Sallas Park in New Caney, Texas. Mules, wagons, funnel cakes, Oh My!!

Families will enjoy a day filled with entertainment, shopping, games and food! Our entertainers are tuning their instruments and exercising their voices so you will receive hours of enjoyment! Cloggers on the Move and Brazos River Pickers will be performing on Saturday.

Our vendors are getting the best of their American made wares all ready for you to browse, pick and love! Games will be at every corner waiting for eager hands and happy children to play and enjoy. And our food vendors are bringing out a wide range of treats including funnel cakes, fried Twinkies, fried snickers, BBQ sandwiches, sausage on the stick, Blue Bell ice cream, Frito pies, nachos, hot dogs, snow cones, candy, drinks, and more.

Our face painters will be clowning around and our petting zoo will be full of cute and loveable animals ready to greet their little visitors. Young visitors will actually participate in a children’s size parade, led by our very own Little Ms. Texas Sawmill and Little Mr. Texas Sawmill pageant winners. Enter your cute little ones in our fun pageant contest.

Our OldSawmillTown will be open for viewing all day, so stop by and tour this town with your entire family. Fretted Friends will be strumming along throughout the day in the Old town for all to enjoy. And watch out for the sheriff! You don't want to be caught loitering or you may end up in jail! Make sure and bring a buck to get out, just in case!

Stepping back into time has never been more fun or exciting! Join us for our family friendly event as we explore the rich history of an area known and loved by so many. EastMontgomeryCounty is a place to call home.
