Thought I'd post some pics of the weekend plane making demo by Zahid this past weekend. It was held at my shop and Zahid did a great job. Attending was Todd Yates, Joe Meazle, Zahid, Tim Caley and me. It was put on by the arkansas woodworkers group. It was a great saturday. The pics to prove it happened.

Anytime Creekers get together is a good time. :)

A plane making demo from Zahid as well? Can't think of too many things better. :D

Look at all the pegboard! What a clean shop!

My shop is filthy, and I need more pegboard...

Guys it was really nothing, I'm no Steve Knight or James Krenov. As some of you know I made a few Krenov style planes, and many Creekers helped me with valuable advice. I had Dennis try a couple and he liked 'em so word got around and I guess I was picked as the first sacrificial lamb to kick starts our Arkansas woodworkers group we recently started.
Todd Yates brought a bunch of plane blanks made from hard maple and I went through the steps of how I make one of these planes. We started with a jointed and squared block, did some cutting, trueing and shaping and got to a point where we had to glue it back together. The night before I had completed phase one on another block at my shop. So we pulled that out and got going with fitting the mouth, cutting the profile etc. I already have several smooth planes, so I was working on a jack/fore plane, wanted to make a jointer but didn't have stock long enough for a 22" plane. I also experimented with a new grip along the lines of what you see on primus planes. Here are some pictures
