I made a plum bowl for my neighbor in repayment for the plum tree trunk I got from him after the ice storm back in December. I think I did ok on the shape. I know I have a lot to learn yet. Thanks for the tips on turning out of round wood.

This was my first experiment with DNA drying. Stuck it in a bucket for 2 days, let it dry on a rack for almost two weeks. Seems pretty stable. 5.5" diameter, 2" tall.

I think the wood itself is really pretty tho. I guess Plum sapwood has all the color...

Very nice bowl Gary ! Nice form and finish.:) :) DNA works great, I love it and wouldn't be without it. Just keep in mind that like any drying method, you will lose one every now and then.

By the way, I think you are on my list aren't you?

Gary.....Keith currenlty has myself and John Hart and now you on his list. I think it's list of extemely lucky folks who come up with free wood. There may be others on his list.....He's 2,000 miles away from me .....I'm not too concerned.

Looks beautiful! You did a great job!

Plum is hard wood to dry, isn't it!

Plum is one of my favorite woods. The older the more heartwood, thus, the more beauty. This one is very nice, thanks for showing it to us.
