This is a first post for me and want to take this opportunity to thank this group for all that I have learned so far. I am green and setting up a shop. A friend of mine knows of a 7 year old Minimax S45 that is for sale for 1K. Is this a good price. I see on their website that they are about 1900 new. I think the 12" resaw capacity would be just fine for me, but wanted to get your opinion.

Welcome to SMC, Steve!

If the machine is in good condition, then it is likely worth the $1K. You may also want to ask this question in the Mini Max Yahoo users group...the address is on the MM web site...as there are not very many S45 users at SMC that I am aware of.

Steve,

I have the S45N and I love it, I had a "14" Jet BS before this one and believe me there is no comparison. Right out of the box I was sawing 1/16 veneer without any tuneup. According to MM it is a very well rounded saw for cabinet/furniture type WW'ing with resaw capabilities. And I agree! :)
