DC Ducting Information Needed

I have a couple of questions, and need help sourcing, ducting and fittings for a cyclone dust collector installation. First question is metal vs. PVC, pros and cons. The second question is where can I get the best deal on the ducting and fittings, either metal or PVC.

PVC: cheaper, limited to 4" and 6" sizes, can build up static if not grounded.
Metal: more expensive, better variety of fittings, fittings designed for airflow

Personally, I ended up doing a mix. 6" PVC for the mains, and metal where needed. I bought my PVC at Lowes and my metal from Penn State.. not sure if that's the best deal though.
