Made of hemlock and pine, finished with milk paint and linseed oil. Design taken from Thos. Moser's book, with the addition of a tinder box at the top. Machines used for major cutting an planing wide boards, but done with hand tools as much as I reasonably could.

I've always wanted to make one of these. I like the hinged front panel, was that in the plan? If not, I think it is a good idea.

Beautiful box. The last picture gives it the (size) perspective that I missed with the first post.

Which of Moser's books did the plans come from?

It's an old paperback with line drawings, not exactly plans. I think the name of the book is "Building Shaker Furniture"
