I broke out the new monster tool I got this weekend and made my first Hf. Hollowing was alot of work but it was fun. I turned it to a tad of 1/4" and it is green but not real wet. I got the chunk of wood from Bill Grumbine when I visited him.

Please be Honest with your critiques I think it should of have a smaller foot and maybe the transition should of been bigger but all in all I like it. I should say that some of the hole has there naturaly

I also inclued a new emperor pen I made last week. It's black stabilized box elder burl.

Great job, Bob! That's a very nice job for a first or any.

Ya know... once you're bit by HF's there is no cure.

Bob that looks mighty fine to me. Beautiful job. Looks like you got the Monster tool setup. Can't wait to get to mine. I was going to go out and turn something with mine but was the guest of honor at my birthday party. The LOML thought I should be there. So will try some time this week or maybe this coming weekend.

Thanks, All

Doug it was the new emperor kit from csusa.

Randy Your monster tool works great I need more practice it took me awhile to hollow it out. I have to figure out when to use what cutter and so forth.

Berine you will love yours

John I have seen your stuff. I got aways to go before I catch up with you.

Bob - really like your HF. Great form, grain and finish! Couldn't ask for anything better in a HF! Pen is amazing!! Love the color contrast between the black wood and the gold! Really nice work!

I love the pen but as a beginner, I will stay away from the big ticket pen kits for a while. That would be a pretty special gift for someone.
