Well I was pretty busy Fri and Sat at the Appalachian Woodworking Expo.
Talked to a bunch of people, did a few demos. Even got to meet SMC'er Mike Fuson and his buddy Mike. We Had a several contestants in each class Novice, Intermediate and Open class with some very nice turnings, not as many as I would have liked but not bad for the first show that our club has done.
I ended up putting in 25 pieces out of those I got 15 blue ribbons 6- 2nd place ribbons and 4-3rd place ribbons. I also got Best of Open with the Mallee burl and best of show with the large Spalted Ambrosia Platter.
I was told by the Judge helpers that there was a debate over 3 pieces for best of open and they where the Mallee burl bowl, the no foot HF and the SW Blue stained HF.
Over all I'm proud of all my turnings that I entered in the contest.

Congrats Jim! The no foot HF is still my favorite, although all of your work is so beautiful. Glad I wasn't a judge - you'd still be there waiting for me to decide which piece is the best!:)
