Okay, kind of cheesy, but I just wanted to practice making captive rings. I found out that the secret to doing something small like this is to make it small enough that you can't get your finger between the ring and the end. Since you can't touch the backside of the ring, I am sure that it must be PERFECTLY smooth and shaped! Bocote soaked with Danish oil and then buffed. Turned with a beading tool and a sharpened screw driver. You can really make that ring spin with the buffer! :D

Awesome job. Never thought of a captive ring on a stopper. I will have to try it.

I don't even know how to do a captive ring but thats realy, really cool. I do have a whole bunch of bocote though:rolleyes:

Very nice, Robert. Think of it this way...if you can't get your finger on the backside of the ring, noone can see if you sanded it!
