Saving bandsaw blade

I have a 1/2 inch blade on a Delta 14 inch. A jam caused a pinch on the blade which now "ticks" every revolution. I can feel the distortion with my fingers but its hard to see. Is there a way to flatten out this blade or am I just out of luck?

Once you get a kink in a tempered band saw blade it's hard to get it out. You didn't mention what kind/brand it is. If it's a cheapy, pitch it. If not remove the blade, place the kink between to flat pieces of steel and give it a good whack with a ball peen hammer (stay away from the blade set if you can). If that doesn't work peen the kink with the round end of the hammer on a piece of steel (anvil works good here). That may stress relieve the blade enough to straighten the kink. Hope it works.
