I have an opportunity to purchase a remington rifle with a really nice trigger setup, but the seller for some reason spray painted the entire gun in greens. Is there a good way to remove the spray paint from the stock that wont damage the existing finish. In some areas the spray paint will flake off so the existing finish must still be intact. Any suggestions, or just pass on this rifle for now?

GOOF OFF is good for removing all sorts of "stuff", but not sure about what it will do to the finish. I know on lexan-plexi is makes the clear plastic slightly milky.
Somewhat in shock someone would spray paint a Remington of any model or caliber!
Sounds like a "Foxworthy'ism" waiting to happen... "You might be a redneck if you've ever spray painted a fire-arm!"

I'd start with something milder than Goof-Off. Try Dirtex first. It's an ammonia-based product (window/other-cleaner). Spray it on, let it set for a minute or two, then put a rag and some elbow grease on it. If that doesn't work, move on to the stronger chemicals.
