Hi
A recently completed bandsawn box - the Jester. A lidded box, the lid is secured by the use of magnets.

Tony,
very nice, I often though about magnets for attaching lids.

Tony - Way cool. I wish I had the patience for carving. That IS what you did for the lid, right? I, too, have often thought of using magnets in simialr situations - but have yet to get around to it. Great job.

Re the magnets - I use two one in the lid and the other in the cabinet, I suggest you cover both with a veneer of timber.
And yes the top is hand carved, done in front of a fan operating at full speed, whilst the northern hemisphere was bunkered down for winter.
Good Health
