I was curious if anyone might know of any websites that are good for finding woodworking positions with companies.

I've been unsatisfied with my current job supporting computer software for a marketing company and have been entertaining the thought of going back to working with my hands. I know I'd take a drastic pay cut and although I'd love to open my own shop, I think getting into a quality woodworking shop would help me gain the needed experience to branch off on my own.

If anyone has any thoughts on where I could look for positions, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Chuck

Usnig the web to find a job should one of the many options you will need to try. The web is going to be limited. Monster, and many other jobsites are out there. The problem is there is no link to most of these so you must spread your search out over many sites. You still can't beat the word of mouth method of knocking on doors of local shops and see what openings might be available. Your best bet is too open up your local yellow pages for cabinet shops. For studio furniture...http://www.furnituresociety.org/

CabinetMaker Magazine has a online site, that also lists job classifieds. You may want to check there.

When I got my job working for a cabinetmaker, I found the ad in a local paper.

I thought the same thing. I checked his profile, he hasn't been back to the Creek since posting this question. We'll probably never know.
