James I understand that the dust collection works better on a SawStop than on other cabinet saws, are you finding this to be the case?

Nice set up. I'm saving for a SawStop. I also need a planer and jointer.

As far as the dust collection
It works well. Better, I do not know. I have only had it set up for 1 day and I am upgrading from a contractors saw. It is much better than a contractors saw, but I cannot give an honest comparison to a cabinet saw.

The cabinets are actually vanity bases for our master bath. Baltic Birch case work with Cherry face frames

James -

Great setup!!

It looks like your outfeed table is perhaps "expandable"? can you put a "table leaf" in it (with grooves for the miter guage slots)???

No it is not expandable. I just only had a 2 by 4 foot piece of melamine and I wanted a 3 by 4 foot table. So I just left a foot of dead air. This saved me from having to route miter grooves and the long boards reach the table well before the start to sag or tilt so it works like a full table.

Congratulations...Nice looking saw. Have you had any trouble with your De Walt planer blades. I have the older model # 733 2-blader and it still works great after all these years.

Love the Dewalt Planer. I have had zero problems other than the bed got dirty and I had to clean and wax it.

The dust collection on the SS is really no better than my PM66 was. Tony at SS told me just yesterday that they are aware that the dust collection isn't the best and said an upgraded dust shroud inside the cabinet is expected to be released by the end of the year. It will be able to be retrofitted to existing saws.
