How long does a can of Poly usually last before it no good to use? I have a stand I just completed and stained and was about to poly it when I noticed the only can I have is really old. Thanks

No help as I don't know the shelf life of poly but, when in doubt . . .. Is it really worth the risk after all the time and care you put into that stand?

Taking care of it I say 6 months tops and that is keeping it out of the cold and hot temps. Any longer than that and I buy a fresh can. Less if you constantly keep the can open while using it. I mix well and pour it into another contaner.

Ok so this can in my guess is about 8-10 years old due to the HQ logo on can. I would have to make a guess here and say NO. Thanks

This is almost a full quart, what is the proper way of disposing of it?

The two ways I know to dispose of it is (1) take it to the hazardous waste facility, or (2) pour it on some old newspapers and let it dry in the sun. Then throw the newspapers and the can away in the regular trash. This might be tough with a whole quart.

Sawdust is very absorbent.
