"Making Traditional Wooden Planes" by John M. Whelan. Chapter 15 covers making a traditional wooden dado plane. Another good book for wooden planes is "Wooden Planes and How to Make Them" by David G. Perch and Robert S. Lee. It has a chapter on the geometry of skewed blades.
While not specific dealing with skewed blades and dado planes, Tod Herrli's "Classic Planemaking Vol 1: Hollows and Rounds" is an excellent video on making side escapement planes. It is amazing how easy Tod makes it look. It is now available in DVD to boot.
