I just finished this cocobolo bowl. It's the second bowl that I've ever made and is about 8" x 4". Finished with 5 coats of tung oil and then beale buffed. It has it's flaws but I'm happy with it. I invite your comments.

Jason, for the second bowl you have turned it is a super example of woodturning. You went whole hog and jumped in with both feet buying that nice piece of wood, talk about commitment. It sure paid off because that is a beauty. Try and make one with sloping sides on the inside next, and see if the sanding isn't a little easier. Thanks for sharring this picture with us.

Thank you all for the compliments.

Glenn, thanks for the tip. I can see where it would have helped in this case to have more of a curved shape. This stuff, as you know, is very hard and took a lot of effort to sand...luckily my final passes were pretty clean.

I rough turned this to about 1/2" about three weeks ago. Gave it a 24hr DNA bath then bagged it around the outside until a couple days ago. The sides moved in about 1/16th-1/8th".

Very nice looking. About the only flaw I can see is that it is at your place and not mine. Good job on it.
