Black Chrome?

Has anyone ever engraved black chrome? Would you use Cermark or could you engrave it direct like black anodize?

This came up before in a discussion relating to Zippo lighters. I can't recall that it was resolved but a search including Zippo might produce some results.

Keep in mind that 'black chrome' may be difficult to identify due to varying manufacturing techniques. Most 'chrome' we see is vacuum metallization (aluminum vapor deposition) covered with a clearcoat. There are also some new catalytic 'chrome' coatings that are similar to paint, but more durable. Good idea to check and test.
