Was wondering if there was a use for them big toad stools that grow on trees. Kirt fallen a bunch of large beech on his logging site and I was impressed with the size of them and wondering if there was a use for them.

Ya know...I remember when I was a kid, growing up in PA, people would take those things and carve them. I'd be interested what they would do on a lathe as well. Hmmm. That would be pretty cool.
If you end up listing them, I might want to try it.:)

I know of a lady that paints on them, they are really nice. Wish I had one to show ya.

In the old days they dried them, impregnated with salt peter (potassium nitrate), and used them to start fires with flint and steel.

Showin your age there a little bit John... I was going to tell about a friend of mine who dries them up and paints pictures on them, but I see thats been done..
